Recently new version of Handbrake which is 0.9.8 was released . In 0.9.6 there were many changes like support for VLC or System default video player , Introduced new advanced option section for gain and audio track names but 0.9.8 there are only few minor tweaks .  For those who are new , Handbrake is nothing but GPL-Multithreaded video transcoder .

This tutorial will show you how to install Handbrake 0.9.8 in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin .

How to Install :

Installation is done through two step process :

Since installation is done through PPA , First you have to add PPA . To Add PPA , run the following command in terminal ( which can be opened by pressing CTRL+ALT+T).

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stebbins/handbrake-releases

Next you have to update your system and Install Handbrake 0.9.8 . To do it , run the below command in terminal .

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install handbrake-gtk
